I am sure that Spanish gigs will be better!
In any case they are playing more at their own concerts than in festivals.

Suffered through a bit of Candlemass, though it's not my cup of tea, so I can't really judge. The crowd seemed to like them, so…
Only Goff festivals ? How many are there left compared to metal thingies ?
(Festivals that can afford such headliner I mean)

Thomas, just back, need… sleep… need… sleep… a LOT… *whistle*

Go back home today.Yep, too short. What is surprising is that we've seen Jello Biafra just after the fields gig and they play more than an hour with 2 "rappels".Only 7 songs is a pity. But the sound was great.

Just to quickly and succinctly clear a few things up for you guys:

FOTN had a fixed set time of 1 hour at Hellfest the curfew on their stage was 1AM.

The deciding factor in choosing which shows to play is not a financial one.

There are many reasons why Hellfest was an appropriate show to play. All gig offers and suggestions are carefully considered on merit - many are refused.

See you next time!

57 minutes with 3-4 min out before the encore= 54min
The sound was great but the voice of carl wasn't good, very low and I think he was saving forces, it wasn't his day,

Sorry friends but for me this has been the worst gig of my Nephs gigs. This fest is not for nephs, thats my opinion.

The best songs for me, Mourning and of course Chord of souls.

Btw, My dying bride very well, fcuking well.

Pics ann blog coming soooon.

could you please clarify another issue?

why is the sound so shitty? What is with the god-awful excessive slap-back echo that is always being used? It sounds off-time and terrible, and makes everything sound dissonant and muddy.
Its been that way almost every show now. Are you using your own sound person or are these house employies? I am staring to think there is some sort of epidemic of insanity amongst the audio elite these days. And I can't believe everyone else is saying the sound is good. Rob used to work with sound systems , can't he do a little tweaking during soundcheck? Please???

All goth bands use echo and reverb don't they? (I should know, I was in one!)
Do you want the Nephs to sound like AC/DC or something? :?

The sound was really great but have to agree with you, the voice was extremly low
The bass was amazing (since Athens, they found the perfect level) especialy on mourning sun with a realy cool distorsion.

Judging by Druide's boot it really was.

The guitar parts are splendid but the drumming is disappointing to say the least, IMHO - it's monotonous, predictable and its sound is rather horrible. I hate to say it but I'm beginning to truly miss Nod

Personaly the voicals mix hasn't deranged me, the result sounded like a "block". I found the bassist really convincing too, and the global thing was satisfying even if I have a few regrets about the setlist. I would have adored to see them play "For her Light" and "Endemoniada" instead of "Mourning Sun", but it's a metal festival and I understand they had made certain choices too ("Zoon", "Penetration"...).
The sound was good, even really good on the front, but if you were on the back of the Rock Hard tent, it was perhaps different, I don't know. Sound is a strange substance, isn't it ?
I found Carl was in a good shape, his presence had something incantational. This show was enough beautiful on a visual point of view too, beautiful drumming I find and the guitars were really present. On the front of the stage we heard very well Tom Edward's parts but Gav ones were a little "stifled".
But I cannot understand that they had only 60 minutes to develop the ambiance. One needed 15 minutes more to achieve a normal setlist, a global thing. It was really to short, but OK, fan's voice is not something really objective.

For this 60 miinutes they should also have taken different then Moonchild or Penetration (they are everytine on set + getting a bit excuse me - boring), even like Black Rain, or Venus Decomposing, Shine, Xodus ... think they were also good enough for metal festivals....
