MERCIFUL NUNS as special guests at the FOTN gig in Athens

The MERCIFUL NUNS, the new band of GARDEN OF DELIGHT's mastermind Artaud Seth, will perform as special guests at the FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM gig in Athens.

Artaud Seth & G.O.D. have always walked, in terms of music & lyrics, the same obscure path as the NEPHILIM. Now the new incarnation of the legendary GARDEN OF DELIGHT will join forces with the WATCHER in Athens....

We are waiting for the mass... IA SARRU MASS

REANIMATORS - GREEK NEPHS salute & thank Dark Side Records (organiser of the FOTN concert) for their excellent choice. We really can't think of anyone more appropriate to play with the NEPHILIM.

The Nephilim playing alone is a big event in itself. But having the Merciful Nuns playing with them...this is truly AWESOME... *notworthy*

I think this is their world premiere live and possibly one of the very few live performances for the Merciful Nuns... :twisted:

In this thread some don't seem thrilled at all about this band and even feel that they directly pinched a few things...

I guess the people from FOTN are ok with this to hire them as an opening act? Imitation as the sincerest form of flattery and all that, or something more sinister afoot?

Artaud Seth stated in an interview that he gave up on SoM releasing another album. So he did his own "Retro-Goth" album. Hence the "Merciful Nuns" name. It shows humour doesn't it?

But I have to agree that I'm a bit confused about the LP's cover... Artaud still is such a fanboy. I guess he'll jump right from the stage after his gig to join the audience.

I guess it's a little difficult to understand the concept behind "Merciful Nuns" if you are not into gothic rock. All of us are fans of the Nephilim but very few of us are also fans of gothic rock (I 'll never understand this btw), so I can see why so much controversy about this act. IMHO Mr. Artaud Seth has offered unique moments with his work under the banner of Garden of Delight & I consider myself very lucky to see him perform 4 times on stage all these years. Of course I couldn't imagine a better combination for this concert, we are indeed lucky b@st@rds...

Ditto. It plays on my favourite internet radio, and I can't believe some lyrics line are actually pinched straight from SOM songs.

Even if the Merciful Nuns have "borrowed" some elements from the great bands of the genre, they are still a great band themselves, with an even greater history (as the Garden of Delight). To be honest I prefer a Sisters or a Nephilim copycat, than a modern day "goth" band that sounds like Merilyn Manson or HIM, but this is just my opinion...

So I am VERY glad to see Artaud on stage once more.
